Inform Order Guide - it doesn't assign items with future introduction date.
Audit log entry: Skipped because the item is not active for vendor: Vendor '567887' (ID: 153), Vendor Item ID 3866
Vendor Item introduction date 3/22/19, create a rule to assign apply on 3/22/19.
Scenario
- A Vendor Item was imported/created, with a future introduction date
- A rule was created in the UI for that vendor item, using the same future introduction date
- After Applying the Rule
- No rules were created for the item, as the Vendor Item was not active, per the audit log entry Skipped because the item is not active for vendor: Vendor '567887' (ID: 153), Vendor Item ID 3866
- The expectation is that the rules defined in the UI are created for the Vendor Entity Items, where the Vendor Item has an introduction date in the future
- Based on what the logs are reporting, a Vendor Item is only active if the Introduction Date is less than or equal to today and the Discontinue Date is greater than today
- I believe that we need to update the logic to say that an item is only Inactive when the Discontinue Date is today or in the Past - To clarify, an item is only Discontinued if the Discontinue Date is today or in the past. Discontinued items will not be valid for order guide rules, but inactive items will be valid.
- This will require a change to the main Manage Vendor Item Assignment page to include items with a Future Introduction Date in the following filters:
- Items Requiring Action - Changed "active" criteria to "not discontinued"
- Unapplied Rules - No change, this filter already includes all discontinued items
Unassigned RulesUnassigned Items - No change, this filter already includes all discontinued items- Discontinued Items - Changed from "not active" criteria to "discontinued"
There will also be a change required to the rules engine to create rules when the Introduction Date of a Vendor Item is in the future
Note
After this story is completed, it will be possible to make a rule that results in a Vendor Entity Item where the Introduction Date is after the Discontinue Date. This is bad data but acceptable behavior.
