While testing the feature "Ability to Remove End Date for a rule, it was noticed that we can add an end date in the past (Older than today) and accordingly the rule expires and we are no longer able to remove the end date.
That is why we do not want to allow the discontinue date to be less than either the Introduction Date, or today, whichever is greatest.
Steps to recreate issue:
- on the "Manage vendor item assignment" screenÂ
- when I click edit on an existing rule
- Enter an end date that is less than today
- Save changes
- Attempt to click edit again to remove end date, but the edit button is no longer there because the rule has expired.
David Nayyar can you confirm the behavior when adding a discontinue date of today? Does the_ item get discontinued immediately, or is at the end on the day?
- A expiration date of "today" will set the discontinue date on the Vendor Entity Item to "tonight at 11:59:59 PM" - so as long as the job that discontinues items runs between midnight and the start of business the next day, it will be discontinued before the store opens the next day.
