- There is no specific configuration for this feature
- This feature changes the order flow, the user is allowed to Place the order, but when doing so if an allocation is exceeded they will be prompted to correct the issue.
- When an item is over allocation, the user is unable to click on the Confirm button in the Place Order modal.
Story
When I attempt to place an order, I would like an indication in the Actions button that some items in my order are over their max allocation.
Details From CFA
Currently, when a user tries to order more of an item than their current allocation allows, we remove the "place order" button so they are stopped from placing entire order. However, it's not always intuitive for the user to realize why that button is missing since they would have to have teh specific item pulled up to see the errror message, like in the below screenshot:
Once they reduce the item quantity, then the Place Order option displays, but our Help desk has received numerous calls over the months with a frantic Restaurant user not being able to figure out the reason why their "Place Order" option is missing. This feature would eliminate that confusion by simply graying-out the "place order" option (rather than totally removing it) with text saying "Items above order allocation amount prevent placement of order" (or similar-should be configurable). Potential idea below-open to other suggestions to solve this problem.
Possible Solution
Solution 1 Based on Existing Functionality
When there are items with an order amount over the max allocation, replace the "Place Order" menu item in the "Actions" button drop down with an item labeled "Items Over Max Allocation".
When a user clicks this item the open order sorts by items with a configured max allocation.
