      Description

      Story - Search Filters

As a user, I would like to be able to search vendor and inventory items by the name of the item including the unique ID "%Item Name% (%Item ID%)". This will allow me to copy and paste these titles and more easily search.

      Details

With the new feature that shows the user the inventory item name and ID in the correct on hand modal and the vendor item name and ID in counts, the likelihood if a user highlighting these labels, including ID, and pasting them into search bars is high.

Current Functionality - Using an Inventory Item from the Correct on Hand Modal as an Example

      • The user copies an inventory item name and ID to their clipboard from the correct on hand modal. See example below:
        • Coffee, Dark Thrive (14777)
      • The user then navigates to the travel path to find the item and add it to a travel path location.
      • The user clicks "Add New Item(s)" and pastes the copied item name and ID into the search bar.
      • They are presented with no results.
      • If the user removes the item ID including the parenthesis, the the search is successful.
      • If the user removes the item name and the parenthesis around the ID then searches just by the ID, the search is successful.

      Desired Functionality

      • The user should be able to paste an item name and ID into the search and return results successfully.
      • The user should be able to successfully return a result if the have a partial string. For example, the user accidentally fails to copy the whole item name and item ID. For example, they leave off the last parenthesis and the last digit of the ID.
        • Coffee, Dark Thrive (1477
      • This should be true for inventory and vendor search.

      Search Locations - Filters

      • Travel Path - Inventory Item
        • Location Search
      • Order Details - Vendor Item
        • Item Search
      • Inventory Adjustments - Inventory Item
        • Inventory Adjustment History > Search
        • Recorded Food Donations> Search [Added on 11-4]

      Acceptance Criteria

Please confirm In all search locations (listed above)

      1. The user can successfully find items via search using a search value that includes the item name and item ID
      2. The user can successfully find items via search using a partial search value that includes some part of the item name and ID. Based on the inventory item: "Coffee, Dark Thrive (14777)", below are some examples:
        1. ffee, Dark Thrive (14777)
        2. Coffee, Dark Thrive (147
      3. The user can continue to search with just the item name or just the item ID.

Please take note of system performance. The goal is to not impact or very marginally impact item search times.
