      Description

      Configuration of Help Text

      Help Article Title: Forecast Accuracy
      Short description: Forecast Accuracy = 1-(ABS(ActualSales - ForecastSales)/ActualSales)) * 100
      External URL: leave empty
      Menu Items:

      • MxConnect - Forecast - Sales (/Forecasting/View?metric=sales)
      • MxConnect - Forecast - Transactions (/Forecasting/View?metric=transactions)

      Feature

CFA would like to add a change percentage to the forecasting graphs when applicable.

      Example

      Image 1

      Image 2

      Calculation

      (Forecast - Actual) / Actual

      Unsolicited Note

This formula comes from the example given in the CFA ticket (Image 2) but it seems like the percent change number that is more effective is the (Actual - Forecast) / Forecast number. If we were to calculate the percent change from the forecast value the number, in Image 2 would be -32.9% as the actual sales were smaller than the system forecasted value. My thought here is the user is looking at the forecast and trying to determine if the actuals were more or less instead of looking at the actuals and measuring the forecast.
