- Add Waste reason for Shared Table Initiative (INF-10413)
Chick Fil A currently has a program called "Shared Table" operating to help restaurants with food donation. CFA works with a 3rd party to donate wasted menu items to local shelter that provide food. These restaurants track their donated food with their partner's software, and submit the sum of the fair market value of the food for a tax deduction for the year. Many operators also do this on their own. As CFA works to bring this totally in house, they're looking to leverage InFORM's waste entry and tracking capability.
The purposed of this feature request is to add a new reason for a waste entry in the waste module of InFORM. We'd like this new reason code to be "Food Donation".
- Waste reporting functionality to sort by waste reason (
INF-10414)
INF- 10413 explains how CFA is partnering to increase food donation of food they can't sell. Part of this donation process is submitting the fair market value of all donation come tax season for a deduction for the Operator.
We'd like reporting functionality that allows stores to generate a report of all food wasted with reason "Food Donation". This report should look just like the "Raw and Finished Waste by Date Range" report in Additional Reports in InFORM today. We just want the added condition that the report only showed Donated food.
- Import Fair Market Value into InFORM for reporting purposes (
INF-11477)
The Shared Table project is a project that allows CFA stores to donate items they cannot sell, regarded as waste in InFORM, to food banks. Part of the process for obtaining the tax credit available to Operators by participating in this program is assigning the Fair Market Value to the donated item. FMV is determined by an outside organization. We're hoping to store this data in out CFA systems and import it into InFORM via I4. We want to do so for reporting purposes, so when an operator creates a report of all wasted items that were donated, the fair market value is available for financial reporting reasons.
Since menu and sales are items are the items that are donated, my idea is to bring this over in the sales item file and store it relative to that item. The donated waste report fromINF-10414would then pull this data when generating.
